DEVUNI KADAPA

The doorstep of Tirupati, Devuni Kadapa. Before proceeding towards Tirumala Tirupati, pilgrims stop at this place to pay their homage to the presiding deity, near Kadapa city.
Venkateswara unique idol of the Lord which has on its reverse, an image of Anjaneya Temple here, is the famous features. it has an impressive sculpture of the dancing Vigneswara in the Mukha Mandapam, which is much admired, built in the Vijayanagara style of architecture.
As part of the annual Brahmotsavams, Kalyanotsavam of Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Swami at Devuni Kadapa, is performed in a traditional manner. The celestial wedding of Lord Venkateswara and His Consort scores of devotees participated in. the temple priests performed different rituals of the celestial wedding in accordance with the scriptures as the 'Kalayana Pranganam' echoed with 'Govinda Namam'.
Celestial bath of the Lord, Thirumanjanam, is also performed. It was followed by Gramotsavam and Vasantotasavam. The processional deity was taken out on a gaily-decorated, 'Gaja Vahanam' after performing Unjala Seva in the evening.
Cynosure of every eye present on the occasion will be the dazzling form of the Lord atop Gaja Vahanam . Devotees offered prayers to the Lord with folded hands as the procession passed them. bhajana brundams from different parts of the district danced and sang in praise of the Lord, ahead of Gaja Vahanam.
