Pausha Putrada Ekadashi
Ekadashi that is observed on Shukla Paksha
of the Paush month is known as Paush Putrada Ekadashi. People without
children believed that by observing the Putrada Ekadashi vrat on this day they
would be blessed with a child.Couples also worship the deity for well-being for
their children.Grains, beans, cereals, and certain vegetables and spices are
avoided on this day. This Pausha Putrada Ekadashi is more popular in North
India, while other states give more importance to the Shravana one.
Devotees take early morning bath on this
day, pray lord vishnu and observe fast. This ekadasi is mentiond in
bavishyottara purana by Lord Krishna.
