Gayatri Jayanti is Observed on Sukhla
Paksha Navami in Jyeshta Month.This day is celebration to worship the mother of Vedas.
Goddess Gayatri is worshipped as Veda Mata or the mother of Vedas, Dev
Mata and Vishwa Mata.The Goddess is believed
to have five heads. Four of the heads are a representation of the four Vedas
while the remaining one represents the almighty. People in different parts of
India actively take part in this festival.
The celebration of Gayatri Jayanti
involves offering prayers and chanting the Gayatri Mantra. The prayer also
includes performing a number of rituals and customs that mark the respect for
the Goddess. Moreover, special satsangs and bhajans are also performed during
the festival.
