Parshuram Jayanti
Parshurama
is the sixth incarnation of God Vishnu. Parshuram Jayanti is celebrated as
birth anniversary of of Lord Parshurama. It is observed on the third day of
bright fortnight in the hindu lunar month of Vaishakha.
If Tritiya tithi falls on
two days, when Tritiya prevails during Pradosh Kal is considered for
Parashurama Jayanti.
Lord Parshuram was the son
of Renuka and Jamdagni Maharshi. People observe fast on this day. Hindus
believe that Parshuram still alive on the Earth.This festival is celebrated in
God vishnu temples through out the world. Shobha yatras, pujas and rituals
are also organized in several Temples.Akshaya tritiya is also celebrated on the
same tithi i.e on tritiya but in this it is celebrated on the next day.
