BASANT PANCHAMI SNAN (15th Feb 2013) :


Vasant Panchami marks the beginning of the spring season. The festival of spring is celebrated with full vivacity and joy amongst the Hindu people. In Hindi language, the word '' Basant / Vasant'' means ''spring'' and ''Panchami'' means the fifth day.

In short, Basant Panchami is celebrated as the fifth day of Spring Season. Vasant Panchami falls on the fifth day of the Indian month, Maagh (January-February). This festival is also known as Saraswati Puja.

RATH SAPTAMI SNAN (17th Feb 2013) :


Ratha Saptami marks the seventh day following the Sun’s northerly movement (Uttarayan) of vernal equinox starting from Capricorn (Makara).It represents symbolically in the form of the Surya Narayan turning his Ratha (Chariot) drawn by seven horses,with Aruna as the charioteer.It heads towards the northern hemisphere, in a north-easterly direction.
The ratha and the seven horses reigned to it represents the seven colours of the rainbow.The seven horses represent the seven days of a week starting with Sunday, the day of Sun Narayan.The chariot has 12 wheels, which represents the 12 zodiac signs and constitute a full year,called 'Samvatsara'.The Sun’s own house is Leo (Simha) and he moves from one house to the next every month and the total cycle takes 365 days to complete.


BHISMA EKADASHI SNAN (18th Feb 2013) :


Bhisma Ekadashi, or Bheesma Ekadasi, is observed in the Magha Month (January – February). In 2012, the date of Bhishma Ekadasi is February 3. It is believed that the Vishnu Sahasranama Stothram was revealed to the Pandavas on this day by Bhisma,who was lying in a bed of arrows after the Great War in Mahabharat. It is believed that Bhishma chose this period to leave his body and merge with the Supreme Soul (Brahman). It is also known as Jaya Ekadashi. Observing Jaya Ekadashi Vrata gives the devotees the opportunity to get rid of the sins and to get salvation.


MAGHI PURNIMA SNAN (25th Feb 2013) :


Magh Purnima or Magha Pournami, also known as Maha Maghi, is one of the auspicious Pournami days for Hindu devotees. Purnima is considered as significant in terms of spiritual practice and performing religious rituals. Samudra Snan or Punya Nadi Snanam (holy dip in holy waters) on Maha Maghi is highly meritorious deed. It is auspicious for Snana, Daana, Japa, and Parayana.
