Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple - Upamaka

Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple is located at Upamaka in Visakhapatnam of Andhra Pradesh. Lord Vishnu is presiding here in the form of Sri Venkateswara Swamy as Swamyambhu. 


HISTORY :

The temple was built by Sri Krishna Bhupaludu, king of Kandregula region of East Godavari district during 6th century. Lord Venkateswara is presiding on Garudadri Hill. The Hill looks like the shape of Garuda. Lord is seated on Horse along with His consort Goddess Lakshmi Devi facing North. There is a Raamasthoopam installed on 4th May 1964 by Sri Sri Thridandi Sreemannarayana Ramanuja Pedda Jiyar Swamy. This is one of the 108 Ramasthoopas in India. It is believed that Praana Prathista of the main deity was performed by Narada. There is a temple of Sri Venugopala Swamy beneath of the Hill. Sri Venugopala Swamy is the Kshethra Palaka of this temple.

ALAYA DARSHANAM - DAILY POOJA SCHEDULE

  • Every day the temple allows DARSHANAM to all DEVOTEES from 6 AM to 12 noon and again from 5 PM to 7.30 PM.
  • Pooja with ASTOTHRAM and SAHASRAM be performed everyday.


DAILY SEVAS

§  "TIRUVARADHANA and PANCHAMRUTHA ABISHEKAM" to Moola Virattu Swamy seated on the hill be performed everyday from 8 PM to 9 PM. In spewel occasions this Abhishekam be performed at 4 AM.
§  SWAMY KALYANAM
Devotees who wish to perform "SWAMI KALYANAM" may do on payment of Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred Only) an any day as desired by the devotees from 11 AM to 2 PM except in the following days
1)DHANURMASAM - DEC 16TH TO JAN 16TH

2)BRAHMOSTAVAMS - 10 DAYS

3)DURING THIRU NAKSHATRAM PERIOD (Confirm with Devastanam over phone)

WEEKLY SEVAS:

Every Friday "SAHASRANAMARCHANA" be performed to GODDESS ANDALAMMA from 6 AM to 7 AM.

Festivals :
1.  DHANURMASAMSOSTAVAMS -DEC 16TH TO JAN 16TH

2.  ADYAYANA UTSASWAMS -In February of SRI RAMA

3.  SWAMIVARI KALYANA MAHOSTAVAM is being gorgeously solemnized every year on Sudha Ekadasi in Palguna Masam (February-March). The Festival attracts Lakhs of people from all corners of Andhra Pradesh. Holy fair celebrations last for 20 days

4.  BRAHMOSTAVAMS-10 DAYS (In September OR October)

These Festivals namely Brahmostavams, Dhanurmasostavams, Adyayana Ustavams, Adyayana Utsaswams of Sri Rama are being celebrated with pious processions like Punyakoti Vahanam, Ponna Vahanam, Garuda Vahanam, Sapparamu, Rajadi Raja Vahanam, Hamsa Vahanm, Ashwa Vahanam, Gaja Vahanam, Pedda Pallaki, Chinna Pallkhi Vahanam. Sevas to LORD with both "ANDALS" are being splendidly organized in Thiru streets of village.

How To Reach This Temple :

Sri Venkateswara Swamy vari Devastanam Upamaka is well connected by both Rail and Roadways. It is situated at a distance of 4 Kms from Narasipatnam Road Railway Station.


BY ROAD


APSRTC Buses are available from Rajahmundry / Kakinada and Visakhapatnam at an One Hour interval.
APSRTC Buses are available from Tuni and Yellamanchili at frequent intervals.
Regular Auto Services are available from Narasipatnam Road, Addu Road and Nakkapalli.


BY TRAIN


Most of the Trains passing between Kolkatta - Chennai line will stop at Tuni station, which is 20 Kms distance to Upamaka.
Some of theTrains passing between Kolkatta - Chennai line will stop at Narasipatnam Road, which is 4KM distance to Upamaka.


BY FLIGHT



The nearest Airport is situated at Visakapatnam, which is 90 Kms distance to Upamaka.
