Mata Chintpurni Mela 2016

Mata Chintpurni Mela is a famous event held Chintpurni Mata Temple in Himachal Pradesh. It is also popular as Shravan Navaratris festival (Sawan Navratri).

The Chintpurni fair also called ‘Mata Da Mela’  is held in Maata ka darbar in village Chintpurni, the fair is held in Navratris and in Sawan Months during the first ten days of shukla paksha i.e. the bright half of the lunar month. The fair lasts for nine days during the navratris and for ten days in Sawan.

Maximum Crowd for Chintpurni Mela continues day and night but the attendance is highest on its 8th day.

This mela is held three times in  year 

ü   Chaitra Chintpurni Mela (Chet Chintpurni Mela in March-April)

ü   Sawan Chintpurni Mela (Sawan Months July-August)

ü  Ashwin Chintpurni Mela (Asanj Chintpurni Mela - September-October).

2016 Dates :

ü Chaitra Navaratri : April 8^th – April 15^th

ü Sawan Navaratri : August 3^rd – August 12^th

ü Sharad/Ashwin Navaratri : 1^st October – 10^th October.
