Varuthini Ekadashi

Varuthini Ekadashi, also known Baruthani Ekadashi, is a Hindu holy day, which falls on the 11th lunar day (ekadashi) of the fortnight of the waning moon in the Hindu month of Chaitra.The followers of Varuthini Ekadashi vrat believe that by observing the Varuthini Ekadashi fast, they can successfully cleanse their sins and seek blessings of happiness, prosperity and wealth. Some even consider that they can attain the ability of performing various types of charities.

Chaitra Purnima

Chaitra purnima is the first full moon day of the hindu lunar year. Like all other purnimas, this purnima is also considered aupicious. Regular purnima fast and satyanarayan vratham is observed on this day. Hanuman Jayanti and Chaitra parva is also celebrated on this day.

Month names of the Hindu lunar calendar are names according to the star, during whose ascendency the full moon of that month occurs. Chaitra month gets this name with Chitra Nakshatra.

Kamada Ekadasi

Kamada Ekadasi is the first Ekadashi in a Hindu year and considered to be the most auspicious among all the Ekadashi rituals.It comes after Chaitra Navratri and sri rama navami.

Kamada Ekadashi is dedicated to God Vishnu. People wake up early in the morning take bath and observe fast. Parana (breaking fast) is performed after sunrise on next day.  As the meaning of the word “Kamada” suggests, by observing this vrat one can fulfill all his desires.
