Facilities at Tirumala

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams are doing their best to provide the maximum possible facilities to the pilgrims coming to Tirumala. There are several large choultries providing free unfurnished rooms for families to stay in reasonable comfort. Electricity and water are free.



Facilities to pilgrims in the queue halls.

  • Hygienic, airy, large queue halls provided with ceiling fans.
  • Catering inside the halls by TTD canteen.
  • Sale of food packets at reasonable rates.
  • Sale of pure milk by Andhra Pradesh Dairy Development Corporation.
  • First Aid.
  • Toilet rooms even in the queue halls.
  • Closed Circuit T.V. programmes.
  • Relay of devotional programmes, music, etc.
  • Cloakroom facilities near Vaikuntam Queue Complex.
  • Free shoe-keeping centers near VQC and PPC sheds.
  • An officer posted at the entrance to the temple (Mahadwaram) to prevent malpractice.
  • An officer to look after the comforts and facilities of the pilgrims in the VQC and PPC sheds.
TTD has made several innovations in the daily seva timings in the Tirumala Temple to reduce the waiting time of the pilgrims in the queue halls. At the same time, the following facilities are offered to the pilgrims so as to make waiting less tedious.
Cloak Room facility near CRO and the Vaikuntam Queue Complex on Tirumala and in Venkateswara Choultry (opposite Railway Station) at Tirupati.

Bus facility to go around Tirumala Hills. These buses ply round the clock in two different routes covering all the cottage blocks, Kalyana Katta, the Temple, the Queue Complex and the Museum. (Refer route map for further details.)
Broadcasting service station (located opposite the main Temple) helps to make announcements about missing persons etc.

Counters for leaving footwear are located near the Varahaswamy Temple; near the Vaikuntam Queue Complex (beside Vijaya Bank); and near the Kalyana Katta.

S.V. Guest House Canteen
: TTDs Sri Venkateswara Guest House Canteen with most modern amenities provides wholesome food at moderate rates.

Free Meals
: The wholesome free meals will be provided to the devotees in the TTD Canteen Complex from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM. continuously on production of free meals coupons distributed inside temple after worshiping the Lord.

Free Medical Aid
: Pilgrims are given free medical aid at Aswin Hospital, VQC and PPC sheds.

Posts and Telegraphs
: There are posts and telegraphs offices near the Central Reception Office with all the facilities including telegraph.

Free Bus
: Free buses are operated at Tirumala for the benefit of pilgrims covering cottages, choultries, Temple and other places.

Air Lines Coach
: APSRTC runs Luxury Coach Services for the convenience of Air Passengers from the Airport to Tirumala and back.

Sale of Gold and Silver Dollars
: Gold and Silver dollars with the images of Lord Venkateswara and Goddess Padmavathi are available for sale at the counter (near Vimana Venkateswara swamy) inside the Srivari temple, Tirumala.

Kalyanakatta
: Pilgrims can fulfill their vow of tonsure at Kalyanakatta free of cost and at choultries by paying Rs.10/-

Sale of Publications
: All religious books published by the Devastanamas are available in TTD's publication stalls at Vaibhavotsava mandapam (near Rambagicha Guest House) at Tirumala and also at Tirupati viz., First new choultary, Dhyanamandiram near Govindaraja Swamy Temple and Railway Station.

Railway Booking Office
: This booking office located at the central reception office, will issue tickets to all destinations including reservation tickets for Bus-cum-Train journey.

Automobile Clinic
: A mobile van with mechanics and spares is available to attend to the repairs of the vehicles stranded on the ghat roads. The Toll Gate either at Tirupati or at Tirumala may be contacted.

Purohit Sangham
: At Tirumala, TTD has organized a Purohit Sangham comprising Purohits with the necessary learning and experience to perform vedic rituals. Fees for such services are fixed by the Devasthanam.

The devotees desirous of performing sankalpam, namakarana, chaulam, upanayanam, marriage, pinda prardanam and other vedic rituals may approach the purohit sangam with the assistance of any of the TTD's, contact enquiry counters at CRO Vaikuntam queue complex and opposite Srivari Temple.
Pilgrims Amenities Complex (near Central Reception Office): The complex provided with lockers, tonsuring center, bath rooms and toilet facilities free dormitory accommodation to nearly 5000 pilgrims.
